Middle School

Ms. Katie Hargrave
Katie Hargrave
Middle School Principal
PCA is woven into the fabric of who Katie Hargrave is. She became a Panther in Kindergarten and attended PCA through 12th grade. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English and state teaching certificates from Dallas Baptist University in 2011. After working at Sky Ranch for a year, she returned home as a PCA elementary teacher in 2012. She taught elementary school for 3 years and was a secondary teacher for 6 years.. She has taught a wide range of subjects including New Testament, 8th grade Bible, Senior Worldview, Speech, and Personal Finance.

Ms. Hargrave received a Master of Arts in Christian School Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2016 and is currently pursuing an Ed.D./Th.M. in Teaching and Educational Ministry with an emphasis in Christian Formation and Human Development, also at Southwestern. She is a member of First Baptist Church, Arlington, where she has served as a D-Group leader in the youth group and as a nursery worker. She loves people, coffee, and being outdoors! Some of Ms. Hargrave’s favorite PCA memories have been serving in Jamaica, traveling to Europe with students, and enjoying her friendships with PCA families, faculty/staff, and alumni. She still maintains close friendships with her classmates from PCA, and says her favorite thing about our school are the relationships it has given her. Ms. Hargrave’s vision is to create a distinct, exciting, Gospel-oriented middle school culture where every student feels seen and valued!

The Middle School program at PCA is designed to strike a balance between:

  • Security and Challenge
  • Individuality and Community
  • Support and Responsibility
  • Requirements and Opportunities

Middle School is the bridge that joins elementary and high school. Sixth, seventh and eighth graders are at a pivotal point in their lives, and indeed they are at the threshold of young adulthood. This transition requires an environment prepared not only to meet the challenges, but prepared to take advantage of the opportunities presented by this special time in a student’s life. The facilities, staff and programs of PCA have been put into place to do just that.

Ultimately, our goal is that we communicate the love of God to young teenagers in the context of an academic environment. We expect them to work hard, so we balance that expectation with the opportunity to play hard. We know that life will shortly pull at them from every direction, so we provide a “connectedness” for them that is rooted and grounded in Christ.

*All electives offered are subject to having enough participants to make a class. Additional offering may be available dependent on interest and staff availability.
