Homecoming Dance and Party Guidelines

Attendance guidelines:

1. Homecoming Dance privileges can be forfeited for discipline infractions at the sole discretion of PCA administration.

2. High school students may bring a guest from another school, please complete the form and return it to the High School office by September 19.  Former PCA students who have been expelled or asked to withdraw from PCA are not eligible as dance guests.  Former PCA students who have voluntarily transferred to other schools are eligible to attend the dance, but he or she must be a guest of a current PCA high school student to attend. It is the responsibility of the current PCA student to make his or her date aware of the dance and dress guidelines.

3. Once a student leaves the dance, he or she will not be able to return. Students will not be able to leave the dance until 30 minutes prior to the end of the event..

4. Before leaving the dance, students must check-out with the chaperone in charge of “check-out”.

5. Please refrain from inappropriate dancing. The student will receive one warning, after that the student and/or guest will be asked to leave. No “dirty dancing” or front-to-back dancing. This will be strictly enforced.

6. You are expected to display Christian behavior, speech and actions; this will make the evening an enjoyable event for all.

7. Consumption of alcohol, vaping, or use of any illegal drugs is strictly prohibited before and during the dance. Seniors may lose the privilege of walking across the stage at graduation if this guideline is not followed. Others will be disciplined according to the PCA handbook and the discretion of the Administration.

Dance Attire is Semi-Formal

Dress Guidelines for Girls:

1. FRONT – NO VISIBLE CLEAVAGE. Remember that the dance is an active event. Before you purchase the dress, try it on and move around in it, moving arms up and down. Make sure it is comfortable and appropriate. If you are in doubt, take a picture wearing the dress and show it to an approved faculty member (Lane Rhodes, High School Principal) 

2. BACK – Create an imaginary line around the torso starting at the belly-button and go around. The back of the dress cannot extend below this imaginary line.

3. SLITS – in front or back cannot be higher than fingertip length.

4. Dresses that have a cut out or a mesh-lined cut out in the body of the dress are not acceptable.

5. A PCA chaperone will be on duty to check for inappropriate attire. If your attire is deemed inappropriate, you will be asked to leave or put on a t-shirt for the entire event, including picture taking.

6. DRESS LENGTH: Must be fingertip-length. Double-lined dresses also need to meet this criterion.

7. No body or facial piercings allowed or exposed tattoos.

Dress Guidelines for Boys:

1. Dress slacks or khakis, dress shirt, tie (optional), and dress shoes are acceptable.  

2. Dress shirts are required to be worn the entire evening.

3. No earrings, body or facial piercings, or exposed tattoos.

4. Boys will be expected to remove any hats at the door.
