High School

The High School Program is designed to prepare students for education, service, and vocations which fulfill God’s specific calling in student lives.

Academics:

Academically, the high school program provides multiple levels of courses including On-level, Honors, Pre-AP, Advanced Placement (AP), and Dual Credit.  Students can select from 3 graduation plans as they satisfy graduation requirements: Distinguished Achievement Graduate, Honors Graduate, and  Graduate.  Biblically integrated coursework in the high school is comprehensive in all academic disciplines.

Please review the graduation requirements and course offerings by grade level to learn more about the many academic opportunities for students.

Activities:

In addition to the academic program, the high school program provides many opportunities for student involvement whereby students are encouraged to experience fellowship, exercise responsibility, and demonstrate commitment to chosen activities including athletics, fine arts, clubs, volunteer service, and leadership development.

 Missions:

Providing students with an opportunity to implement their faith and academic training through active service is an important part of the high school program. At the conclusion of each year, students in each grade level have the opportunity to participate in a class mission trip.   In addition to the Spring mission trips, each fall the entire school participates in a school wide day of serving in the local community.   Volunteer service is also encouraged through campus organizations.

9th Grade: Rural Mississippi: 9th grade students assist at Mendenhall ministries helping on a farm which produces food for the community and other community projects.

10th Grade: New Orleans: The 10th grade team serves with the St. Bernard Project to help renovate homes to enable New Orleans residents to secure more affordable and permanent housing.  Highlights of the trip also include the opportunity to learn about the culture and history of Southern Louisiana.

11th Grade: Brownsville:  PCA's 11th grade class goes to Brownsville, Texas for their annual mission trip.  There they partner with a local church and work on projects on the US side of the border that benefit a variety of needy folks, including orphans and pastors in Mexico.  They also sponsor evening outreach programs for families in apartment complexes.

12th Grade: Jamaica: In conjunction with Jamaica link ministries, 12th grade students minister to various organizations including gospel presentations and fellowshipping with disabled students.

Leadership Development:

According to biblical models, students are encouraged to become servant leaders through active involvement in campus activities, organizations, clubs, and teams.   In addition to serving in campus leadership positions, students are encouraged to pursue servant leadership opportunities through the CLASS Honors program and other organizations.  Each year students have the opportunity to attend off-campus leadership training events to further explore their leadership potential and qualities of an effective leader.

Spiritual Life:

In conjunction with the academic program and extra-curricular activities, PCA encourages students to grow in Christ and be better equipped as representatives of Christ.  Weekly chapels provide community, corporate worship, and biblical teaching.  Students are encouraged to participate in chapel by serving on the praise team, coordinating or planning chapels, and sharing experiences and testimonies.  Students are also encouraged to lead or attend Bible studies and prayer groups with other students.  Our Bible department enhances our spiritual emphasis through a strong emphasis on understanding scripture and developing a foundation for Christian apologetics.
