Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Liz Birdwell currently serves as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Pantego Christian Academy. Upon her retirement in 2016, she came to PCA as a 6th grade teacher in Mansfield and later moved into administration serving as the Director of Curriculum and the Middle School Principal. She has been employed at PCA for 5 years.
Mrs. Birdwell began her career in 1988 as a third grade teacher in Fort Worth Texas after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Speech/Communication from Texas Christian University.
As a teacher, she taught general education, chapter 1, and gifted education of grades K-5. She went on to receive her Master of Educational Administration with a Mid Management Certification from Texas Christian University and while working on her masters became an Instructional Specialist in Fort Worth. Once she received her degree, she left and went to Duncanville, Texas where she served as an Assistant Principal of an Intermediate Campus Grades 5 and 6, Principal of an Elementary School Grades K-5, Director of Elementary Education Grades PK-6, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Grades PK-12, Chief Academic Officer Grades PK-12, and retired as the Chief Accountability Officer after serving a total of 19 years.
Liz is married to the Hon. Wade Birdwell and together they have two children, Alexandra and Nicholas, who both graduated from PCA. Alexandra is a senior at Texas A&M University and Nick is a freshman at University of Texas at Austin. The Birdwell family attends Central Bible Church and have been involved in various ministries over the years.
