We Are Scholars
What is a scholar? At Pantego Christian Academy, it’s a kindergartner perfecting his letters, a 4th grader engineering a science project, it’s our eighth grade chemists, and most of all it is the crucial learning tools we arm scholars with as we prepare them for our high school program where they may go on to earn college dual credits, join the ranks of our National Merit scholars, or excel in any number of athletics, fine arts or student government. At PCA, we don’t just call our kids scholars to make them sound smart, we have embraced the use of Multiple Intelligences in teaching and learning. By discovering each scholar’s multiple intelligences, instruction can be delivered in ways the brain learns best. It also incorporates Depth and Complexity, a method used to increase the ability to think, learn and communicate at a deeper and more complex level. We love seeing kids succeed as scholars. We love how important and respected they feel, being taught in the ways that empower them as individuals, to succeed in the way they alone are wired. By the way, Harvard University calls its students “Scholars” as well. Coincidence? We think not!
