Tuition Aid - Returning Families

TUITION AID – Returning Families

2010-2011

Currently there is limited funding for the aid program; however, we do feel called to minister to families that do not have the finances available to attend at full tuition, so we work diligently to do what we can within our limited resources. By necessity, our tuition aid is restricted, and the following guidelines apply:

What you need to do…

1. Complete the 4 step reenrollment process in Renweb. This must be done by February 12th in order to get the lowest tuition rates.

2. Initially, tuition is calculated at the full tuition rate until the initial aid award is determined.

3. Requests for tuition aid must be made to the Registrar prior to coming in to the Registrar’s Office to sign your enrollment contract. You must fill out the online tuition aid application from the FACTS Management Company at www.factstuitionaid.comThe deadline for filing the FACTS application is March 1st.

4. Submit copies of your current 2009 W-2 and 1040 tax forms to FACTS for evaluation. If you own your own business or are a principal in a Sub S Corporation, provide copies of all forms you file for income tax purposes. The deadline for receipt of tax forms is March 1st.

What you need to know…

1. Initially, tuition is calculated at the full tuition rate until the initial aid award is determined.

2. The deadline for completion of your application process with FACTS is March 1st. Any tuition aid monies available after that date will be available to new families.

3. The spot(s) for your child(ren) will be assured as soon as you have completed the tuition aid process and your initial acceptance to the tuition aid program is determined. The final acceptance into the aid program is contingent upon review of your child’s final grades and conduct reports for the 2009-2010 school year to determine if they meet the aid requirements. This review is done the first week in June and a Contract of Enrollment will be issued at that time to finalize your aid award.

4. Aid will be awarded based on the order in which completed applications are received. Once the funds allocated for aid have been awarded, there will be no more aid available unless private donations are made to the fund.

5. Aid is not offered at the Early Childhood, Pre-K or Kindergarten levels.

6. Any past due 2009-2010 tuition must be paid before you will be considered for 2010-2011 tuition aid.

7. Secondary students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and no failing grades to receive aid and may not have received more than 20 points in the PCA discipline system during the 2009-2010 school year. Elementary students must have passing grades in English, reading, history, math, science, and have classroom citizenship grades no lower than 80.

8. Notification of final aid award determination will occur during the first week in June (after academic and citizenship grades for the 2009-2010 school year are reviewed). Should an applicant not receive aid and/or chooses not to send their child(ren) to the Academy, all tuition and the registration fee paid will be refunded; however, the $25 fee charged by the FACTS Management Company and the $75 testing fee for Kindergarten testing is non-refundable.

9. If your child, in Grades 9 – 12, wants to participate in athletics, you must have completed your tuition aid process and signed a Contract of Enrollment with us by September 1st in order for your child to participate in athletic contests.

10. All families on aid are required to pay the full cost of any class trips that are a part of their child’s grade level curriculum. This includes, but is not limited to, the 4th grade Austin trip, the 7th grade Texas History trip and the 6th grade Outdoor Science trip.

11. Other factors which influence the decisions on whether applicants will receive aid include the parent(s’) demonstrated willingness to seek other financing for tuition expenses and their demonstrated stewardship of their income.

12. Eligibility for the aid program is reevaluated each year.
