Meet the Board
2007-08 PCA Board Members
|
"I am so impressed with the people that make up PCA's school board. To be sure, these are talented individuals, but more importantly, they love the Lord. You hear it in their prayers and see it in their enthusiasm for the future of a school dedicated to His purpose." John Yowell, Former PCA Board Member |
The following people presently give much of their free time to helping PCA flourish and excel in both short-term and long-term goals.
John Humphrey, Chairman
John Humphrey has served on the Board of Trustees for six years and as Chairman for the last three years. He and his wife, Laurel, have two sons at PCA, one in the elementary and one in middle school. The Humphrey's children both started at PCA in kindergarten. His personal goals are to contribute to the creation of a school where children can grow in Christ, receive a world-class education and do it in outstanding facilities. He believes that the virtues for success in life are found in scriptures and is convinced that these virtues, taught from a Christian worldview, coupled with outstanding academic and athletic programs will create the next generation of leaders in America. It is his dream for the future of PCA that it be known by its efforts, involvement and grace, as the Lord raises up parents, teachers and community leaders with a passion for Christian education.
K.C. Mann Vice Chairman
K.C. Mann has been on the PCA Board for 7 years. He and his wife, Cindy have two sons, one in the middle school and the other entering his senior year in high school. K.C. joined the School Board because it gave him the opportunity to invest his time in a ministry that is investing in eternity. It is his desire to see PCA broaden its influence from a local level to region-wide, impacting lives for God's Kingdom.
Dr. Norma Hedin
Norma Hedin has served on the Board of Trustees for five years. She and her husband, Eric, have one daughter who has attended PCA for 10 years and is a sophomore. Their other daughter graduated from PCA in 2004 and is beginning her senior year at Texas A & M. Norma is a professor of foundations of education at B. H. Carroll Theological Institute. She appreciates the importance of excellent academic and athletic programs, but particularly believes in the significant role of godly Christian teachers and administrators in the lives of students.
Connie Hester, Board Member
As a past president of the PCA Parent Teacher Fellowship and other PTF board positions, she has been a very active parental supporter of the school. Connie has a desire to see the school and its students develop to their fullest potential and wants PCA to become a known leader and role model for education in all areas - Christian service, academics and athletics.
Steve Newby, Board Member (ex-Officio) PCA Headmaster
Jay Pritcher, Chairman Emeritus
Jay and his wife Barbara have 2 sons attending PCA. An attorney with The Home Depot, Jay served as the Board Chairman for 2 years in 2003-05. A strong believer in the value of Christian education, Jay's vision for the school includes a close community of families working together to make PCA the established standard of excellence for Christian education.
Jack Grunwald, Board Member
Jack and Jodi Grunwald have two daughters attending PCA, one in high school and the other in middle school. We transferred our oldest daughter to PCA 7 years ago and immediately realized a vast improvement in the quality of education. We feel PCA’s greatest strength is not only its Christian curriculum, but its Christian family culture. The tremendous family involvement is the key element that has and will continue to make PCA a leader in Christian education. As a board member for the last year, it is very exciting and fulfilling to see the commitment of the Board members and families to ensure the success of PCA. In today’s world, the growth of Christian education is paramount. Our goal is to see PCA put its best foot forward to meet the growing needs of Christian education.
Dr. June James III, Board Member
Dr. June James III serves as Special Assistant of the College of Education and Enrollment Management at the university of Texas at Arlington. He brings a wealth of experience from his years of serving as Dean and Professor of Education at Paul Quinn College and Executive Administrator of Metro Christian Academy. He is also certified as a Teacher, Principal, and Superintendent. He has served a previous term on the Board, and brings to us a broader community perspective.
