High School
The secondary students and faculty consistently exceed national and state standards. A college preparatory curriculum that includes Latin, Spanish, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics and several Advanced Placement and Pre-AP and Dual Credit classes has produced many students recognized as finalists and scholars by the National Merit Program.
The Academy's philosophy of shaping the entire individual - body, mind and spirit - has a positive impact on students. Spiritually, the students are challenged daily to live as committed followers of Jesus Christ. The spiritual growth of secondary students as disciples is greatly enhanced by extracurricular activities including various mission opportunities locally, nationally and internationally.

*Students transferring to PCA are not required to have Bible credits for those semesters they were not enrolled in PCA. **Some courses will be offered based on teacher availability and scheduling. ***Required courses.
PCA offers a number of advanced options for motivated students. Some of these options require a student
to be enrolled in a specific course during a specific year of high school. Honors courses in Math would be an
example of this. Other advanced options require a student to be enrolled in a specific course that
terminates in a College Board Exam. Our AP courses fall into this category. Still other advanced options
lead directly to transferable college credit and therefore require specific SAT or Accuplacer scores in
order to be eligible to enroll in the course. Our Dual-Credit courses fall into this category. Finally there are
some honors options that occur within the regular classroom, but they are carried out by contract
between the student and the instructor.
All of the honors and advanced options factor into the student's GPA with a weighted value depending
upon the catefory assigned to the course. The categories are Honors, Pre-AP, Advanced Placement,
and Dual-Credit.
As the advanced options at PCA are continually expanding, a current list of courses offered can be obtained
from the high school guidance counselor. For more information about the college courses taught on our
campus, contact the high school guidance counselor or our Dual-Credit Liaison.
High school classes may be with mixed grade levels due to students transferring to PCA who need a
required course.
